Simplicity

Buenos dias!
God is so good! The first few days here in San Lucas have been a blessing and testament to the love that God has for us! From our amazing team to the wonderful people of Guatemala, Gods love is so evident!

Saturday was about learning simplicity. Gods beauty is often times in the simple things; He reveals Himself in those simple things in life that we often take for granted because we are moving too fast. Yesterday was a perfect time to slow down (partially because I had to because we went on a gorgeous hike up a mountain and I'm super out of shape, so slowing down was necessary!) But what a beautiful hike! There's just something about standing on the top of a mountain looking out at the beauty of the world!

But, as we did simple things: hiking, walking, talking, learning about each other, seeing Gods nature; that is how God showered His love yesterday! And as we walk the streets, the Guatemalan people are so filled with love! Grandmothers carrying baskets on their heads and greet us. The cutest little children you've ever seen (except for my own of course!) smile wave and greet us with such enthusiasm! At the top of the mountain, there were a couple of families selling goods.

They stared intently as we shared praise & worship asking for "uno mas!"  We then took one of the most simple treasures and blew bubbles, which were a huge hit! Then the jump rope took over! Just simple. Just beautiful. Just God. He is here!

Despite all this beauty, my body is going to kill me! After a killer hike, we immediately followed that up with a 5 on 5 pick up game of basketball in the main square of San Lucas! We stood tall, both in mind and stature, but we still got our tails handed to us! They whooped us, but it was just awesome!

Mass this morning was refreshing! It was so cool to see standing room only! In fact, not only was there standing room only, the faithful were out the door praising God! I noticed they had I have an additional speaker outside the church for those that couldn't make it in. The little square was full of people! So awesome!

Now...we eat!! And coffee is a must! So good!

As beautiful an experience as this is, I miss my family! I love you Rachel, Trey & Claire, Mom and Dad and my sisters! Please keep praying for us and for my wife who is a saint for taking care of our two kiddos while I'm gone! I'll see yall soon!
God Bless!
