And We're Off!

We finally started our 10 day adventure! We all rolled out of bed at the break of dawn (more like 2 am) to meet at St. Wence.

After loading all of the suitcases, we left for the airport, and the excitement definitely started to kick in. We all got through security with only one minor problem of losing a passport (it was found!). Even though we were all sleep deprived, we had a smooth 2 hour flight to Atlanta.

Currently we are patiently waiting in the Atlanta airport for our 8 hour layover before we head off to Guatemala City. Our group is keeping busy by playing Snake Oil and Apples to Apples, catching up on sleep, and exploring this massive airport.

Our flight is scheduled to leave at 6pm and we should arrive in Guatemala City at about 9pm tonight. Then we will head over to a nearby hotel in Guatemala City for a quick night of sleep, but we have an early morning ahead of us! The bus is picking us at 6 am for a 2 hour drive to the San Lucas Mission. We could not be more excited to embark on this amazing opportunity. Please pray for our safe travels! 

P.S. Molly Y, if you are wondering what I am most looking forward to...I would have to say the culture in Guatemala. I think it will be such a great experience to learn from the Guatemalan people and attempt to speak Spanish.
