The day began with an accidental hour-too-early wake up, but no one really minded because it meant more time to get ready for the 3 hour bus ride to San Lucas! Not as bad as it sounds with the incredible views (including that of an active volcano smoking) outside of the windows. No one really minded when it got hot on the bus either... We got to our hotel mid morning and everyone settled and went to the mission for breakfast.
In between there was orientation, meetings, and money exchange- all of the fun stuff! After lunch some went on a hike while Andrea, Anne, Nell, and I sorted through donations. It wasn't all work though, after that we went to get ice cream and had a tuktuk ride! When everyone got back there was a game of soccer, or fútbol as it is here, with some of the local boys. It rained for a while but even with the drizzle the boys here still wanted to play chalk with Nell.
The step drawings extended into the street and I learned that hopscotch is a hard game to translate... Seriously.
This post did not do justice to the amazing day that everyone had; for people returning and first timers alike. The landscape is so physically beautiful that it stuns you. I've only been back for a day but it really doesn't feel like I was here two years ago- it feels more like a few months.
Blessings to everyone and parents can relax because all of your children are safe and happy!

Why do you want to go to Guatemala? By Ben:
The reason is because I've been here before and I loved it! And I can speak Spanish and I LOVED talking to people the first time. And... Mission work is awesome. :)
